Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, assisted living facilities, and home care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and their families on proper healthcare procedures and disease management
- Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality
Requirements:
- Valid HCA license with Alberta
- Proven experience in patient care, preferably in a variety of settings such as Long-Term Care, assisted living facilities, or home care
- Knowledge of palliative and geriatric care
- Knowledge of pain management techniques and protocols
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Ability to provide dementia care and support for patients with cognitive impairments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions based on nursing judgment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and work schedules
